Ninja Gaiden 4 has painted a release date in hot blood upon the floor of the Xbox showcase. Which is fitting, blood being premium currency for Microsoft these days. The character action game is out this year, October 21st. Catch the trailer below before it slinks back into the shadows
Here’s a bit of story from the game’s Steam page.
An endless rain of miasma hangs over a near-future Tokyo in the wake of an ancient enemy’s resurrection. The fate of the city lies in the hands of young ninja prodigy, Yakumo. Fighting his way through cybernetic ninja soldiers and otherworldly creatures, Yakumo must reconcile a destiny he shares with the legendary Ryu Hayabusa himself and free Tokyo from the ancient curse that brought the city to its knees.
Ninja Gaiden 4 was announced earlier this year as a joint effort by Team Ninja and Platinum – an unholy alliance in character action games that should perhaps be made illegal. It’s not the only game of face-obscuring sneakery being developed. The retro-styled action platformer Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound was unveiled late last year, with the Blasphemous devs in charge. Brendy got to have bite previously, and quite enjoyed what he played. That’s also now got a release date of July 31st.
